A St. Patrick’s Day snack that’s sweet, salty, crunchy, and festive? You know I’m in! I’m all about finding fun ways to incorporate new holiday traditions with my kids. So when I saw this shamrock pretzel pop idea, I knew we had to give it a go!
With only 5 ingredients, these are the perfect allergy friendly snack to enjoy at home, bring to a school party, or give to neighbors and friends! Better yet, they don’t require a whole lot of time either!
So, are you read to get started?
Ingredients
- Pretzel sticks
- Pretzel twists
- Dark green candy melts
- Light green candy melts (mixing these two colors gives you a great shamrock green)
- Optional: festive sprinkles of your choice
Instructions
Start by adding 1/2 cup of dark green candy melts and 1/2 cup of light green candy melts into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted.
Then, you’re going to take three pretzel twists and dip them in the candy melts. Lay each of the pretzels on wax paper in the shape of a clover, with the bottoms touching.
Tip: You can also use a fork to help dig the pretzels out instead of using your fingers.
Next, dip a pretzel stick about halfway into the candy melts and place it in the middle of your shamrock. I poured a little bit more of the candy melt into the middle to ensure all of my pretzel pieces would stick together. Don’t forget to add your sprinkles!
After letting your shamrock pretzel pops set for about 20 minutes, carefully remove them from the wax paper and enjoy!
